Media Advisory: Go, Lunch! Kick-Off Event to Be Held on Wednesday, June 11
COLUMBUS – Columbus Recreation and Parks Department’s summer meal program, Go, Lunch!, will host its season kick-off on Wednesday, June 11, at Scioto Southland Community Center starting at 11 a.m. The event celebrates the launch of the 2025 summer food program for youth ages 18 and younger. Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Director Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP will be in attendance and will help serve meals to children. In addition to free lunches for youth, the event will include lawn games and a visit from Munch the Fox, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce's mascot.

Columbus Recreation and Parks Department participates in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
