Playbook Columbus: Next Step to Shape the Future of Parks and Community Spaces
COLUMBUS - Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is inviting residents to take the next step in shaping the future of parks, trails and community spaces through Playbook Columbus, the department’s next 10-year Vision Plan.
Thanks to the community’s valuable input last fall, the department has created a draft of the plan’s goals and "Big Moves"—and now, it's time to preview what’s next. This May, residents are invited to a series of free open house events to review the draft and share final feedback before the plan is finalized.
“The future of our parks, programs and community spaces is being built right now—and it’s being built by the people who use them every day,” said Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. “Playbook Columbus reflects what our community told us matters most, and now we want everyone to see how their voices helped shape the vision and how they can help us continue moving it forward.”
The open houses are casual, drop-in style events. Residents can come anytime during the event window, bring friends and family, and help ensure Playbook Columbus reflects the community’s needs, dreams and priorities.
