Are you passionate about planting trees on private property in Columbus to help improve our City’s urban canopy? Consider the Columbus Tree Assistance Program! Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has partnered for the second year with Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District to offer this grant to organizations. A recent tree canopy assessment showed that only 22 percent of Columbus is covered with trees. Planting trees in urban areas improves health for residents, lowers temperatures in the summer, reduces stormwater runoff and much more! Growing our canopy is key to the vision of Columbus’ Urban Forestry Master Plan.
All trees must be native species planted on private property in Columbus. This year, up to five organizations will receive a total of $20,000 in grants ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. You have until March 31 to apply!

We need you to help us select the best one! Check out the mini-tifos at local community centers, and vote for your favorite online or by scanning the QR code displayed along with the mini-tifo.
