Radio System Outage for Upgrade

Dear Public Safety and Technology Subscriber,

Please disseminate this to any who may need to know this information. 

There will a brief radio system outage on December 12th, 2024 to facilitate an infrastructure upgrade. 

The impact of this upgrade is that the radio system will be unavailable for a period of time. Typical time is 2 min - 8 minutes. During this time the radio system is unavailable.

• The upgrade has zero impact on phones or CAD. Impact is limited to the radio consoles only.

• Radio consoles will not be affected except being unable to transmit on channels not listed below.

• Radios in the field will operate only on the channels listed below during the outage.

Mitigation Plan for Dec 12th:
The list of talkgroups below will be migrated at 0830 over to the MARCS/Franklin County simulcast system to ensure continuity of operations. Once it is established that these are operating correctly we will affect the outage at approximately 0930. All talkgroups not listed will be unavailable for the period of the outage. Once the outage is complete we will roll the talkgroups back to the Columbus radio system and all operations will return to normal.
