Check Out This Week's Edition of Rise Together!

This week, we're spotlighting DE&I. Columbus is a large city, and we are growing. Ohio boasts the sixth-largest LGBTQ+ population in the country, it’s reassuring to know that Columbus is also among the top cities when it comes to protecting equality for the LGBTQ+ community. Read about the programs the department offers to provide an environment that is inclusive for all, as well as Pride events and cultural celebrations taking place around town. 

 Also in this edition:

• There were more than 50 responses to the DEI staff survey! Read a summary of your feedback and how the committee is incorporating it into its work. 
• The department’s Training and Travel request process has been updated. Read about the changes, which include new forms you should begin using going forward. 
• Every day, we make a difference in our community, whether we’re working with residents or behind the scenes. Read an excerpt of a letter we received from someone who lives out of state but has visited the Columbus Park of Roses several times in his long life. His beautiful words are a great reminder of how much what we do benefits our community!
• Check out upcoming training opportunities available through OPRA and access the annual ethics training, which is due by July 29. 
• Get to know Kori DeFelice, an Office Manager with HR, in the staff spotlight.
