City Offices Join Forces to Host Fun, Safe Spring Break Activities
COLUMBUS – The Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) has partnered with Columbus Public Health (CPH) and Columbus Recreation and Parks Department to bring Columbus youth a week of events at area community centers during Spring Break, starting March 29 at Barnett Community Center.
“It’s important that youth have fun and safe outlets during idle time such as school breaks,” said OVP Director Rena Shak. “By creating a supportive environment, youth have an alternative to activities that could have negative consequences.”
The events include a video game truck, basketball tournament, face painting, a bounce house, canvas painting with a Columbus artist, and more, with food and snacks available. Youth of all ages are welcome.
Registration is not required, simply stop by the community center.
