Did you know that Columbus is home to the nation’s largest ball diamond complex? A total of 31 permanently fenced, turf-infield baseball and softball diamonds can be found at Lou Berliner Sports Park! This 228.5-acre park is located in southwest Columbus at 325 Greenlawn Ave. Originally called Southview Park, it was renamed in 1984 in honor of Lou Berliner, a sports columnist and reporter with the Columbus Dispatch who covered high school and amateur sports for more than 40 years. Lou Berliner Sports Park includes an athletic complex, concession stands, a mountain bike trail, playgrounds, picnic tables, parking lots, shelters and a woods and wildlife area. There is still time for you to register your child for the new Arts Academy! This new after-school program is a creative space for young artists ages 8-15 to develop their talent. Done in partnership with We Amplify Voices, CATCO and Cordelion Performing Arts Academy, the Arts Academy provides in-depth experiences in visual art, dance, music and theatre taught by professionals.
