It’s hard to believe 2022 is quickly coming to an end. Before heading into 2023, we took a few moments to capture the highlights of this year. Check out our video below. |

The Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality (OCPIM) recently hosted its 2022 Ohio Infant Mortality Summit – Mobilizing Communities, Keeping Ohio Babies Safe.
The first day of the conference was held in person at four locations statewide on December 2. The central region met at Columbus State Community College.
CelebrateOne staff members were involved in organizing the event and also participated in the panel discussions.
The second day of the conference was virtual with keynote speaker Linda Villarosa, contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine covering race, inequality and public health and the author of Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and the Health of Our Nation.
OCPIM is a coalition of public health agencies, community-driven organizations, community advocates and parents working together to eliminate preventable infant mortality and improve the health of all women of childbearing years throughout the state of Ohio.

Congratulations if you are a new parent.
The birth of an infant is a glorious experience but it’s also life-changing. There is a lot to do during your baby’s first year to ensure he/she has a healthy start. CelebrateOne is here to relieve some of the stress that comes with caring for a newborn and we created a handy list of reminders for new parents to do during their baby’s first year.
No matter how excited you are to be a parent, the constant care an infant demands can drain you. Just remember, find ways to take care of yourself by lowering your expectations and stealing short breaks.
And if you need additional support, our Baby, Bump and Beyond program can help you. To learn more, give us a call at 614-570-3592.

When did you join CelebrateOne? July 2021
Tell us about your job as a Community Health Worker. My job as a community health worker allows me to give back to my community and make a difference. I am able to provide resources and a shoulder to lean on while also sharing my own experiences. As a community health worker, there are very few people or situations that we cannot accommodate with our wide- range of resources.
What are some of the challenges of your job? The most challenging aspect is simply just wanting to serve more families in our community. If I could, I would help every pregnant woman or family in Franklin county.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? The most rewarding aspect of my job is seeing the difference that I made in a family’s life.
What have you learned since joining CelebrateOne? I have learned so much since joining CelebrateOne but I have really seen first-hand how the social determinants of health have such an impact on families. The social determinants of health are the social and economic factors, such as education, employment and where you live, that influence people's health. You really get a better understanding of how these factors impact people when you listen to their stories.
The holidays are around the corner, what are you looking forward to most? I am looking forward to spending time with family and spoiling the kids with gifts. We have a family Christmas Eve party every year where immediate and extended family all come together for a gift exchange, good food and lots of laughter.
