Adult Sports

Softball

We are excited for the upcoming spring sports season! Lou Berliner Sports Park is set to open at the end of February with our first softball tournament of 2021: The THAW. League play will follow, starting up in mid-March. Indoor basketball and volleyball leagues are also slated to begin mid-March. Registration for all leagues and tournaments will take place in February. Please continue to watch for updates on our website.

Baseball

To say that last year was hard is an understatement. But during times of difficulty, Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has found the fortitude to continue to serve its community. We had to be creative in our programming and stringent in our safety. When we look back at 2020, we don’t want to be reminded of all the canceled sports and disappointment. Grounds Crew

Bleachers Update

Sports are like years, they begin and they end. Whether it’s a play, a game, or a season, everyone knows how much time is left and what it takes to win. Our Grounds Crew is a little different though. As close as we are to the sports that our customers and staff love, we never have an end to our season. “There is no offseason” is a fun tagline for the Sports Section that the Grounds Crew lives out every day. Regardless of the circumstances, our crew prides itself on doing “Whatever It Takes” to make sure our customers have a fantastic experience with Columbus Recreation and Parks. So while sports were in limbo throughout 2020, we were more prepared than most to handle whatever came our way to make good things happen. Welcome!

Welcome to The Sports Report, the new sports centered monthly publication from Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. You either signed up to receive these email or you/your student athlete have participated in leagues, tournaments, events or other sports programs offered by us. 

The Sports Office is dedicated to connecting people to their passions through sports by providing high quality sports programming and facilities to the residents and visitors of Columbus.

Thank you for making Columbus a major sports city!


COVID-19 Safety

We will continue to have guidelines in place to keep everyone safe while they enjoy our sports activities. All guidelines and sports specific protocols will be available on our website as we continually receive updated guidance from local health officials. Thank you for your participation in our programs and we look forward to seeing everyone competing soon! 


Upcoming Events

Columbus Recreation and Parks Department sports programs and facilities are closed and canceled until further notice. 

Our website will be updated if any changes to the current stay-at-home advisory are made and we are allowed to resume sports.
