High Street Streetscape Update - Jan. 3, 2020

Construction Update

From W. Ninth Ave. to Fifth Ave.

Utility crews will continue conducting work under sidewalks on the west side of High St., just south of King Ave. Underground work in this area is expected to be completed on Monday. Early next week, underground crews will shift to the north side of King Ave. and work toward the new sidewalk area. Later this month, utility crews will perform work under sidewalks from Smith Pl. toward W. Fifth Ave.

From W. Fifth Ave. to Starr Ave.

Construction zones have been cleaned up throughout the corridor until crews return in early February 2020. Throughout this month, landscaping crews will install tree grates in the sidewalk along the west side of High St., between W. Fourth and W. Fifth avenues. In early February, an additional underground crew will be back on-site conducting work between E. Second and E. Third avenues, installing new storm sewer on the east side of High St.

COTA Stops

  • On Monday, the southbound bus stop on the northwest corner of N. High St. and King Ave. will be permanently closed.
  • On the same day, a new bus stop located on the west side of N. High St., just north of McMillen Ave., will be installed.
    • The new stop will show a “temporary” style of sign until work in the area is further completed, at which point the permanent sign will be installed.

Weather

Next week, temperatures are forecasted with highs in the 50s and lows in the 20s. A mix of rain and snow is in the forecast throughout next week. Extensive rain, snow and temperatures below 40 degrees are not conducive to work progression.

Build-out is set for completion in 2020.

875 NORTH HIGH (The Offices at the Sutton)

Primarily complete. Internal build-out is underway.

40 W. FIRST AVE. (The Residences at the Sutton)

Build-out is set for completion September 2020.

1079 NORTH HIGH

Build-out of the retail portion of the development is expected in summer 2020. Residential completion is set for fall 2020.
