MCO Update!
BWC recently approved the voluntary termination of Genex (MCO number 10042), effective September 29, 2023. The impact of this voluntary termination involves the reassignment of 2,938 employers with 1,113 active claims to other MCOs. Impacted employers will have an opportunity to choose a different MCO if they wish. Injured workers will be notified of the reassignment of their MCO. Providers can also verify MCO assignment through the BWC web at www.bwc.ohio.gov. Questions can be directed to the Provider Contact Center at feedback.medical@bwc.ohio.gov
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day:
10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, October 28
Keep them safe. Clean them out. Take them back. You may turn in unneeded prescription and over-the-counter medication for safe disposal on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, October 28th.
Enter your zip code or county/city/state to see collection sites by you on the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA’s) collection site locator. You may also contact your local police department, hospital, health department, participating grocery, or pharmacy.
Unfortunately, unused, and old prescription medications left in our homes’ medicine cabinets and in our kitchens may find their way into the wrong hands of our toddlers, children, teens, and others.
Disposing of these unneeded medications safely is a helpful way to prevent medication misuse.
For our families and communities nationwide, let’s safely turn in a record amount of prescription drugs on October 28th for Take Back Day.
