BWC Library Question of the Month A question received by the library over the past month with our response.
Question: Can you help me locate the BWC language for a Violation for a Specific Safety Violation (VSSR) language or Additional Award clause?
Answer:
- Information about the VSSR benefit can be found on the BWC website.
- The rule is in the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) "Additional awards by reason of violations of specific safety requirements." The Industrial Commission still maintains jurisdiction over the VSSR process.
- The Safety Violations Investigation Unit (SVIU) has a brochure.
- Links to the current specific safety requirements are in the OAC 4123:1 at the bottom of the page.
- PDF scans of the historical/archived specific safety requirements are on the BWC Library page.
If you have question related to occupational safety and health, email the library at library@bwc.state.oh.us.
