Meet our new pharmacy director —Tracey Archibald
We have a new Director of Pharmacy – Tracey Archibald, Pharm.D. – who joined BWC after directing the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s (ODM’s) pharmacy strategic initiatives. Beginning last month, she now leads our 11-member pharmacy department to ensure Ohio’s injured workers receive appropriate, safe medications.
New role
“I’m excited to take on this role as Director of the Pharmacy Program,” she said during August’s Medical Services and Safety Committee meeting. “Since my time at Ohio Medicaid during the last four years, I have been passionate about improving the lives of Ohioans. I believe the principles I learned at Medicaid will serve me well in my new role.”
She continued, “I take seriously my responsibility to maintain a quality and comprehensive pharmacy formulary that’s effective for injured workers’ recovery, return to work, and return to life. I’m appreciative of your warm welcome and look forward to having a positive impact on the overall health and wellness for Ohio’s injured workers.”
Contact information
She believes that awareness is often the key to improving communication between providers and BWC. “Oftentimes providers are unsure where to turn when they have questions,” she said. “Our nurses and technicians are available via phone and email with very fast response times for pharmacy assistance and other requests.”
You may call BWC’s Pharmacy phone line at 1 (877) 543-6446 and you may also email pharmacy.benefits@bwc.state.oh.us. In addition, you may reach the BWC pharmacy benefit manager, Change Healthcare, by calling 1 (800) 644-6292.

Sept. 23: Transitional work developer reaccreditation webinar for 2021
It’s time for many BWC transitional work developers to renew their accreditation that expires every two years. If you are unsure if you need to attend our last reaccreditation class for 2021, refer to the issue date on your certificate or the list of BWC-accredited transitional work developers on our website.
Apply now
To renew your accreditation and remain active, you must attend our online training webinar from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23. If your accreditation lapses, you may not submit an employer’s transitional work grant program or request reimbursement until you become re-accredited.
Complete the Transitional Work Developer’s Reaccreditation Application (TWD-116), and indicate your preferred class date in the upper right corner box on the application. Your completed reaccreditation application can be sent via fax or email. Once we receive your application, you will receive an email confirmation of your class registration and webinar instructions.
You play an important role in developing the transitional work grant programs that assist Ohio employers in safely returning their injured employees back to work. We want you to be a valuable member of BWC’s transitional work grant program by providing these valuable services for Ohio employers. Please review your certification issue date and register today so your accreditation doesn’t lapse.
If you have questions, email Tina Elliott at Tina.E.1@bwc.state.oh.us. We look forward to your participation in one of our 2021 developer webinars.
