MCO open enrollment May 3–28
Employers, your opportunity to choose the managed care organization (MCO) to manage the medical portion of your workers’ compensation claims is just around the corner. BWC’s 2021 MCO open enrollment begins at 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, and ends at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 28.
To help you select an MCO that meets the needs of your business and workers, updated versions of BWC’s MCO Selection Guide and MCO Report Card will be available soon at www.bwc.ohio.gov. The guide walks you through the selection process, while the report card provides up-to-date MCO performance information. If you’re satisfied with your MCO, you don’t need to do anything.
Please note: MCOs cannot market to employers before May 3. However, you may contact any MCO prior to the open enrollment period to gather information. MCOs may respond to requests initiated by employers outside of the open enrollment period.
For additional information or assistance, visit www.bwc.ohio.gov or call 1-800-644-6292.

Medical and Health Symposium
Wow, what a turnout! By going virtual, almost five times as many people registered this year for our annual Medical and Health Symposium than for our last symposium in 2019. More than 4,800 health care and legal professionals from 45 states and 11 countries registered to attend our three-day conference, which concluded April 10. We had fascinating health care experts, motivational speakers, and BWC staff lead powerful sessions on health care, COVID-19, overcoming tragedy and addiction, navigating the workers’ comp system, and making personal connections with patients.
