Fatal Occupational Injuries to Older Workers According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Monthly Labor Review for January, the number of American workers age 55 and over more than doubled from 1992 to 2017. The analysis finds that older worker fatalities reached a series high in 2017, and when compared with workers overall, older workers were more likely to be fatally injured on the job.

Nonfatal Injury Trends in the Construction Industry The Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) released data on nonfatal injury trends in the construction industry between the years 2003 and 2019 in a recent CPWR Data Bulletin. Key takeaways include construction injury rates declining since 2003; those age 25 and younger had the highest injury rates; and falls to a lower level increased 41% from 2011 to 2019.
