Residents and fellows regulation proposal

Governor Kathy Hochul recently signed an amendment into law allowing residents and fellows (under the supervision of a Board-authorized physician) to treat injured workers in the New York State workers’ compensation system. This amendment to Section 13-b of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Law took effect earlier this year. The Board is proposing regulations to help implement this law and provide billing guidance.

This proposal will be published shortly in the State Register, posted to the Board’s website, and there will be a 60-day public comment period following publication in the State Register.
