The Board is implementing a new enhancement to durable medical equipment (DME) prior authorization requests (PARs) today, March 27, 2025.
If the Official New York Workers’ Compensation Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Fee Schedule does not specify the cost of an item, the estimated cost provided by the provider for the DME item in a PAR will be noted on all subsequently issued Orders of the Chair.
IMPORTANT: Draft PARs and draft insurer responses on all PARs will be deleted
All draft PARs from providers and their delegates and draft PAR responses from payer reviewers that are currently in the system – including draft responses from payers for Medication, Special Services, Confirmation, Variance, and DME PARs – be automatically removed today, March 27, 2025. To avoid having to re-create PARs or responses, please finalize and submit any drafts you have in the system before 6: p.m. today. All PAR due dates will be extended by one business day to Friday, March 28, 2025.
