PREPARE TODAY: Multifactor authentication for eCase

PREPARE TODAY: Multifactor authentication for eCase

To ensure the information security of all users and their accounts, the Board is implementing a new, NYS-required verification method for accessing eCase. This method is common and consistent with those used for online banking and secure email systems.

Beginning March 21, 2025, the Board will require the use of multifactor authentication (MFA) for accessing eCase. Users will have the option to remember their device browser for 7 days before having to re-authenticate their MFA method for that browser.  Visit the recently issued Subject Number, Enhanced Security Requirement for Accessing eCase, for more information.

MFA provides the following benefits:

  • Keeps personal information and confidential data secure
  • Minimizes the risk of cyber attacks
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations

Individual accounts required - prepare today

MFA’s effectiveness relies on distinct/individual user accounts for accurate verification. This means every eCase user in your organization must have their own account.

If you do not already have separate, individual accounts for each eCase user, please take time now to set them up. This will streamline the transition to MFA, help maintain accountability, and improve access management. Each user will be able to manage their own credentials, resulting in better security practices and a smoother user experience.

For guidance on how to create these accounts, please visit our WCB eCase Administrators page, where you will find step-by-step instructions about creating and managing user accounts in eCase.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter and for your ongoing commitment to the security of eCase.
