In response to stakeholder feedback and to ensure continuous improvement is part of the OnBoard system development process, the Board is implementing several enhancements to the Request for Further Action by Legal Counsel (Form RFA-1LC) eForm on Thursday, January 23, 2025. To implement this change, all RFA-1LC eForms saved as drafts will be automatically deleted.
RFA-1LC eForm enhancements
The following RFA-1LC eForm enhancements will be implemented:
1) Expansion of maximum medical improvement reason to include the C-4.3
-
To increase accuracy, the name of the request reason “Claimant is at maximum medical improvement and agrees with insurer's IME permanency report or has obtained their own IME permanency report” will be changed to: “Claimant is at maximum medical improvement and a medical report on permanency has been filed or the claimant agrees with the insurer's IME permanency report.” This change clarifies that the claimant’s permanency report may be submitted by a treating provider or an independent medical examiner. The corresponding instructional text and options will also be updated accordingly.
2) “Check/Uncheck All” boxes removed
-
To ensure submission efficiency, the Back & Neck, Extremities, and Head & Trunk “Check/Uncheck All” boxes will be removed from the “eForm - Body Parts” popup.
3) Field added to “Claimant is entitled to reduced earnings” request reason
-
A new field called “Current Earnings” will be added to the “Claimant is entitled to reduced earnings” request reason. This field will assist with the calculation of any reduced earnings.
4) Optional email field added to Attestation section
-
Attorneys will have the option of including their email address on the Attestation section of the eForm to provide an additional form of contact. This field will only display on the RFA-1LC if a value is entered into the email address field in the eForm/API.
Important - draft RFA-1LC eForms will be deleted
When these enhancements are implemented, all RFA-1LC eForm drafts currently in the system will be automatically removed on the evening of January 23, 2025. void having to recreate RFA-1LC eForms, please finalize and submit any RFA-1LC drafts you have in the system before 6:00 p.m. on January 23.
