OnBoard Email Updates Begin Today

Beginning Today! OnBoard Email Updates for Payers and Providers

The NYS Workers’ Compensation Board is excited to announce that the enhancements to our OnBoard email notifications begin today!

OnBoard, the Board’s new online prior authorization system, automatically sends email updates to payers, providers and/or their delegates when a new prior authorization request (PAR) is added to their work queue and when there is a change in the status of a PAR they are handling.

What changed?

Based on feedback received from the payer and provider community, Change in PAR Status emails now include new information.

  • In addition to the previous content in the subject line, the PAR status and WCB Case ID are included, providing additional at-a-glance details and greater ability for organizations to apply mail rules.
  • The text of the email will include a due date, when applicable, ensuring the time frame for proper response is clear.

What does the new subject line include?

The updated email subject line is structured as follows:

NYS WCB OnBoard – Change in PAR Status – [Claimant Name]: [Par Type]: [PAR ID]: [Status]: [Claim Admin Claim Number]: [WCB Case ID]

For example:

NYS WCB OnBoard – Change in PAR Status – Amy Smith: Medication: PA-00-0011-921: L1 Requested: 12345678: G1234567

These details are also available on the “Notifications” training webpages for payers and health care providers.

Do I need to take action?

Your organization may have previously applied email filter rules to allow for the automatic sorting and/or routing of these emails.

To ensure email notifications are received timely and accurately by your OnBoard users, if your organization has applied these email filter rules, the Board suggests implementing new mail rules.
