The Workers’ Compensation Board is thrilled to announce that the rollout has begun for OnBoard: Limited Release, the first phase of the Board’s new and improved business information system.
OnBoard: Limited release is moving several important paper-based workers’ compensation processes online, improving accuracy, efficiency and ultimately timeliness of benefits for injured workers. Primary initial users include health care providers, payers and medical suppliers.
Starting today, all prior authorization requests for medication (known in the system as Medication PARs) must be submitted and responded to within OnBoard: Limited Release. Additionally, health care providers and medical suppliers will submit all Requests for Decision on Unpaid Medical Bill(s) (Form HP-1.0) in the new system.
OnBoard: Limited Release is accessible through the Board’s Medical Portal under the Prior Authorization Request (PAR) link or the Request for Decision on Unpaid Medical Bill(s) (Form HP-1.0) link.
Subsequent phases for OnBoard: Limited Release will include prior authorization requests for durable medical equipment (DME) and medical treatment, targeted for release in April and May, respectively. Full details, including the rollout schedule, are available on the Board’s OnBoard webpage.
In conjunction with today’s launch of OnBoard: Limited Release:
- Refills and renewals of prescription medications must comply with the Drug Formulary as of today, March 7, 2022.
- The Drug Formulary application within the Medical Portal is now available as “read-only,” so that previously approved medication requests may be viewed.

These requests have been converted to Medication prior authorization requests within OnBoard: Limited Release, where processing will continue as of 7:00 a.m. today, March 7, 2022.
