July 2025
Dear Neighbors,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying a beautiful summer here in the Town of Wappinger. As we just finished celebrating the 249th birthday of our great nation, I’m filled with pride and gratitude for the strong sense of community that defines our town.
Summer is in full swing, and there’s no shortage of exciting things happening around town. Our parks continue to receive significant enhancements, making them more accessible and enjoyable for families, visitors, and all who love the outdoors. We’ve expanded our recreational events and programs, offering something for every age and interest. Our summer camps are now in full operation, with both locations proudly serving 100% Town of Wappinger residents—an achievement that reflects our commitment to keeping our programs focused on our community.
On the infrastructure front, I'm pleased to report that this season’s highway paving projects have been completed successfully. We continue to move forward with plans for smart, cost-effective improvements to our water and sewer systems, ensuring that we’re building a stronger foundation for the future.
We remain committed to supporting our local businesses and encourage everyone to shop local, dine local, and enjoy all that Wappinger has to offer. Whether it’s a stroll in one of our parks, attending a local event, or simply spending time outdoors with family and friends—summer in Wappinger is a time to reconnect and recharge.
Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and memorable July.
See you around Town,
Joseph D. Cavaccini, Town Supervisor
Donations Needed for Families of Dutchess Avenue Fire
On Saturday, July 5th at 1:18am, Wappingers Falls Fire Department, New Hamburg Eng. Co. 1, and Empress Emergency Medical Services were dispatched for a structure fire with multiple callers and unknown entrapment at 6 Dutchess Avenue. 68-2(Assistant Chief Enson) arrived on the scene and reported a fully involved structure fire involving 2 vehicles that were also on fire with everyone to be reported out of the house. 68-2 requested a 2nd Alarm and eventually a 3rd alarm which brought in additional resources and manpower to the scene. 2 victims were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation by EMS. Once the fire was placed under control and all units returned to service at 9:20am.
Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini stated, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family affected in this devastating fire. Our community stands by you during this difficult time. Our thanks go out to our courageous volunteer firefighters who worked diligently to protect life and property on Dutchess Avenue."
Those who are able to, are encouraged to donate gift cards which can be dropped off at the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department at 2628 South Avenue, Wappingers Falls, NY

Bringing paws-itivity and wagging tails to Town Hall!
Mason, the four-legged superstar from Blue Path Service Dogs, made a special visit to the Senior Center and our Town offices.
Blue Path isn’t just about training service dogs; it’s about creating connections and boosting well-being through the unconditional love of animals.
Studies show that spending time with our furry friends can lower stress and improve overall health—and Mason’s visit was a reminder of how special those little moments can be!
