THE STAGE IS SET! SUMMER FUN IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER
2025 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES LINEUP, SUMMER KICK-OFF PARTY, CAPTAIN KIDD'S SCAVENGER HUNT DETAILS, FATHER'S DAY LUNCH & MORE!
Dear Neighbors,
As the days grow longer and the sun shines brighter, we welcome the warmth and joy of summer here in the Town of Wappinger. This season brings with it a renewed sense of community, and we are thrilled to share the exciting developments and events that await you.
Last month, we proudly unveiled The Chapel at Carnwath Farms Historic Site & Park, a beautifully restored venue now open for public events. Additionally, our new live performance stage at Brexel-Schlathaus Park is ready to host the inaugural 2025 Summer Concert Series, promising nine nights of music under the stars - both facilities completed with grant funding!
We're also making significant improvements to our parks and facilities. Over the next few months, 15 town roads will be paved, enhancing safety and accessibility. Our new sign shop at the Highway Department will bring signage production in-house, saving taxpayer dollars and improving efficiency.
Looking ahead, don't miss our Summer Kick-Off Party on June 25 at Martz Field, featuring food trucks, bounce houses, and games. And mark your calendars for the Spirit of Mesier Cocktail Gala on June 13, honoring local contributors to our community.
Whether you're attending a concert, exploring our parks, or simply enjoying the sunshine, we invite you to make the most of this vibrant season. Together, let's celebrate the spirit of summer and the strength of our community.
See you around Town,
Joseph D. Cavaccini, Town Supervisor

CAPTAIN KIDD'S SCAVENGER HUNT
THE HUNT BEGINS JULY 7, 2025
Ahoy Mateys!
While evaluating progress at our new Chelsea Boat Ramp and Docks, Town Supervisor Cavaccini and his team stumbled upon a treasure marker hidden in the sea wall, which, after some digging, uncovered a hidden treasure chest filled with all sorts of goods and old papers. After sorting through the items, he was able to make out what sounded like a rhyme and looked like a map of Wappinger...
Legend has it that a notorious pirate buried a glittering hoard of treasure somewhere right here in town. And now, after centuries of silence, the map has resurfaced....
But beware, mateys! This treasure won't just be handed over. You and your clever crew must follow riddles and navigate your way through these clues across town—using wit, teamwork, and just a pinch of caffeine-fueled creativity.

|
Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini, Town Clerk Joseph P. Paoloni, Fourth Ward Councilman Al Casella joined dozens of residents to unveil the brand new "Art in the Wild" exhibit, creatively repurposing our historic stone grottos with vibrant panels from talented local artists. This unique blend of history, nature, and the arts marks an exciting new chapter for Carnwath.
We also had the privilege of recognizing former Town Supervisor Connie Smith, whose leadership and vision made the preservation of Carnwath possible a quarter-century ago. In doing so we named a trailhead in her honor and proclaimed “Connie Smith Day” in Wappinger!
A heartfelt thank you to Carnwath Community Farming for cohosting today’s celebration and for all you do to keep this site thriving.
Here’s to protecting our past and cultivating our future — right here in the heart of Wappinger.

Wappinger, NY – Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini delivered his 2025 State of the Town Address on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 before 120 residents at the newly renovated Chapel at Carnwath Farms Historic Site and Park. The substantial renovations occurred as the town marks 25 years since acquiring the land. His address, themed “Our Sesquicentennial Year,” celebrated both Town achievements and a bold vision for a sustainable, community-driven future.
In unveiling “The Chapel” to the audience, Cavaccini surprised many by announcing, “Today, ‘The Chapel’ is now open to the public as a new high-end event venue in our community. This new space will be made available for community rentals for weddings, receptions, and life’s memorable moments.”
