OCTOBER 24, 2024
Dear Neighbors,
As the crisp autumn air settles in and leaves transform into a vibrant palette of colors, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on our community’s spirit and embrace the seasonal festivities! I’m thrilled to share that our recent 49th Wappinger Community Weekend—“CarniFall”—was a resounding success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a weekend filled with laughter, delicious food, and cherished memories. It’s events like these that highlight the strong sense of community we share in the beautiful Hudson River Valley.
As we continue to celebrate this vibrant season, we invite you to participate in our upcoming spooky and autumn-oriented activities. From local pumpkin patches to family-friendly Halloween events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as we embrace the joys of fall. Be sure to check our newsletter for all the details on these exciting happenings!
While we revel in the fun, it is important to keep you informed about the important work happening behind the scenes, as we are diligently working on the 2025 Wappinger Town Budget, which I am pleased to announce that the Supervisor’s Tentative Budget includes a proposed tax rate deduction and remains under the NYS Tax Cap. The tentative budget is currently under review by the Town Board, and we look forward to sharing more updates as we progress.
Thank you for being a vital part of our Wappinger community. I wish you all a season filled with warmth, joy, and plenty of autumn adventures!
Looking forward to seeing you around Town,
Joseph D. Cavaccini, Town Supervisor

TOWN OF WAPPINGER
TRUNK OR TREAT
Event Location: Schlathaus Park
Time: 1PM-3PM
2024 Marks the RETURN of our SPOOKY HAUNTED HOUSE
for your little ones to explore if they...dare!
Please join us for our annual Trunk or Treat and Golden Pumpkin awards!
Golden Pumpkins will be awarded to kids ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-13 for cutest, funniest, scariest, and most original costumes. Also, we will have an award for best family, so make sure everyone joins in on the fun!
We are offering pre-registration! It is not required, but it will speed up your check in process the day of the event!
As always, we can't have a trunk or Treat without trunks! We are looking for volunteers to come and decorate their trunks and hand out candy to our little trunk or treaters.
We let the adults vote for best Trunk, so you could win the golden pumpkin for best Trunk (that one happens to come with a $50 Meadowbrook Farms gift card attached).
We do ask that if you are bringing a trunk, please register below.
This event has been getting bigger and bigger every year. Help us grow even more!
