2022 TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE 

HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TRANSFER STATION

AND

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF DUTCHESS COUNTY

Hours: 7am - 3pm

*We do NOT accept TVs or Computer Monitors*

(Other electronic equipment will be accepted)

The Town of Poughkeepsie Highway Department has opened its Transfer Station for    2022 for Town of Poughkeepsie residents to discard unwanted bulk items at 8 Burnett Blvd. on the dates listed below.  Operating hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Current proof of Town residency and a photo ID must be provided before entering the facility.  COMMERCIAL HAULERS AND BUSINESSES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ACCESS TO THIS STATION.  A completed list of acceptable items may be picked up at the Town Clerk or Highway Department Offices, or on the Town website:  www.townofpoughkeepsie.com.

You may call SOLID WASTE MGT DEPT at 845-486-3604 for information on how to dispose of certain electronics & hazardous materials.  NYS DEC also requires that all open vehicles or trailers need to be tarped.

**BRUSH & LAWN DEBRIS WILL BE ACCEPTED**

Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County will be partnering with the Town of Poughkeepsie to accept donations at the transfer station.  Help Habitat for Humanity build the story of home. It's the story of the home a family will build with help from Habitat Dutchess and you.  Sales of your donated items help Habitat Dutchess fund partnerships with our local families to build, rehabilitate and repair homes in our community.  Your donations of new and gently used items are tax-deductible and our Staff will be there to help you unload.  For a full list of what we accept and don't accept, please visit www.habitatdutchess.org
