2024 NOTICE OF RELEVY OF WATER & SEWER ACCOUNTS

AND NOTICE OF REIMBURSEMENT OF PROPERTY MAINTENANCE

AND FIRE INSPECTION FEES

 

TAKE NOTICE THAT I, the undersigned Receiver of Taxes of the Town of LaGrange, County of Dutchess and State of New York, pursuant to the provisions of law will send a list of Delinquent Water & Sewer Accounts, Property Maintenance, and Fire Inspection Fees to the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance after authorization from the LaGrange Town Board following the Public Hearing, held at 120 Stringham Road, Lagrangeville, NY 12540, at 7 p.m., on November 6, 2024. 

TAKE NOTICE, that these delinquent amounts will be re-levied onto the 2025 Town & County tax bills.  They include the following water districts:  Deerfield, Grandview, Noxon Knolls, South West LaGrange, Titusville, Town Center, Manchester and Mapleview.  They include the following sewer districts:  Manchester, Titusville, Noxon Knolls, Overlook Place, Sunset Ridge and Sleight-Frank Farm.

AND FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Town Code Chapter 181-7C (2) “Property Maintenance” and Chapter 83-16 "Fire Inspection":  Reimbursement of costs incurred by the Town to be charged against the real property which is the subject of the violation or delinquent fee.

What this notice means is that any water/sewer accounts that are due on/or before Thursday, October 24th that have not been paid by the due date, will have the outstanding amount owed moved to the property tax bill in 2025. 

Ways to pay:

In person: (cash/check only) at the Tax Office between the hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm (closed for lunch between 12:00pm – 1:00pm). Our office is located at Town Hall, 120 Stringham Road, LaGrangeville, NY 12540. 

By regular mail: Bring your envelope to the Post Office to be postmarked by the postal clerk on/before October 24th.  Please, ensure the date is legible.

By E-check (ACH), Credit & Debit Card: payments must be made no later than Thursday, October 24th: From the Town of LaGrange website: www.Lagrangeny.gov, select the Pay Tax or Utility Bill or the Pay Bill tab on the menu bar of the home screen. Select Utility Payment from the drop down menu, then search bill by last name & street name only. Example: James Jones lives on 123 Stringham Lane. The search criteria is “Jones” for the last name and “Stringham” for the street name.  Please verify the correct bill was retrieved from the system before proceeding!!  Also double check your credit card or checking account number carefully before completing your payment transaction.  The receipt you receive after the transaction is complete is only a transactional receipt.  Please note, inaccurate account numbers will result in returned payments by the bank and are subject to returned check fees and possible relevy. 

Xpress-pay Fees: Credit & Debit Cards – 3.15% of the amount charged, plus 40 cents                      

E-Checks - $1.75 per transaction 

Personal On-line Banking: This form of payment is not recommended because you have no guarantee that your payment will be received in our office by the deadline of Thursday, October 24th.
