Dutchess County Announces Updated Plan for Fishkill Traffic Solutions

Town Supervisor Ozzy Albra has been working in collaboration with County Executive Marcus Molinaro and the Dutchess County Transportation Council (DCTC) to resolve ongoing traffic issues in the Town. Now, as part of its 2022-23 action plan, the DCTC is including nearly $75,000 to fund surveys and analysis, community outreach and design for solutions along the Route 9D corridor, including the 9D/I-84 interchange.

The entire report can be read here. The County has opened a public comment period, and residents are encouraged to submit their feedback. The public comment period ends Monday, February 28, 2022.

Supervisor Albra encourages all residents to read this plan, which includes significant investment in resolving long-standing traffic issues in the Town of Fishkill, and voicing your support to the County.

"Making progress on traffic issues is a slow process, but we're encouraged that the County has recognized the severity of the situation and is investing in this first step to finding solutions which will decrease gridlock, improve traffic flow and increase the quality of life for Fishkill residents," Supervisor Albra said. "I thank County Executive Molinaro and Transportation Program Administrator Marc Debald for hearing our concerns and taking them seriously, and I hope Fishkill residents will participate in this process and encourage the County to invest these funds now and in the coming years to finding lasting solutions."
