Monday, October 16 is the 2023 due date for taxpayers who requested extensions of time to file their personal income tax returns.
If you requested an extension and made estimated tax payments for tax year 2022, verify the total amount of estimated tax payments you've made before filing your personal income tax return.
How to review your tax account balance
You can review the total of any estimated tax payments you've made in your Individual Online Services account—even if you made your payments using software or paper Form IT-2105, Estimated Tax Payment Voucher for Individuals.
-
Log in to (or create) your Individual Online Services account.
- On your Account Summary homepage, scroll down to the Payments section.
- Review your payment history to see the total amount you paid, if any, throughout the year toward the tax on your income.
Are you filing a joint return? Make sure you and your spouse review your own Individual Online Services accounts to view any estimated tax payments you made separately, and any overpayments carried forward from the prior year.
