Monroe County enacts local sales and use tax exemption for clothing and footwear

Effective March 1, 2023, sales of eligible clothing and footwear costing less than $110 in Monroe County are exempt from the county’s sales and use tax. Because these items are already exempt from New York State tax, they will be fully exempt from state and local sales and use tax.
