The login page for your Tax Department Online Services account has an updated design with enhanced security.

What's different?

In addition to the new look, the login page:

• has a new URL, and
• includes a Captcha section.

What do I need to do?

We recommend you:

• replace any bookmarks to the old login page with www.tax.ny.gov/online,
• do not bookmark directly to the NY.GOV ID login page, and
• do not save your username and password if your browser prompts you to do so.

When you're ready to access your account:

1. Visit www.tax.ny.gov/online and select Log in.
2. On the NY.GOV ID screen, enter your username and password.
3. Select the I'm not a robot checkbox in the Captcha section and complete the prompts as directed.
   

4. If asked, establish (or refresh) three security questions and answers for your account.

If you’ve forgotten your username or password, Select Forgot Username? or Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen.

Newly created passwords must be at least 14 characters long and:

• contain at least 3 letters
• contain characters from at least 3 of the following categories
  • uppercase letters (A through Z)
  • lowercase letters (a through z)
  • numbers (0 through 9)
  • special characters (such as !, $, #, %)
• not repeat the same character more than three times in a row
• not match previous passwords
