Update to the 2019 Form IT-272-I, Instructions for Form IT-272, Claim for College Tuition Credit or Itemized Deduction

The Department of Taxation and Finance has posted a form update that impacts individuals who claimed the college tuition credit or the college tuition itemized deduction for tax year 2019. The 2019 instructions for Form IT-272 were updated to properly note that you must submit Form IT-272, Claim for College Tuition Credit or Itemized Deduction, with your 2019 Form IT-201, Resident Income Tax Return.

If you already filed your 2019 IT-201 return, you should file an amended return if this update results in a change to your refund or tax due.
