Key individual online services for September

Registration is now open for the third annual New York State Tax Summit!

The summit will outline best practices for using our Online Services to provide outstanding customer service to your clients. Tax Department employees will be on hand to provide one-on-one assistance regarding Online Services options.

 

Attendance qualifies for three CPEs in the subject area of taxation for CPAs requiring CPE credits. These sessions do not qualify for the New York State commercial tax return preparer educational requirements.

 

Attend one of the following no-cost sessions.

 

Latham, NY:

  • October 10:  9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • October 11:  9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

Brooklyn, NY:

  • November 6:  9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • November 7:  9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

With fall approaching, we want to remind you that your Tax Professional Online Services account allows you to conduct business with the Tax Department when it’s convenient for you.

 

You can use your account to begin preparations for the 2019 return filing season.

  • Manage estimated tax payments for your client. Schedule, view and cancel estimated payments. You can even cancel electronic debits requested through commercial software.
  • View and print your client's Form 1099-G, Statement for Recipients of State Income Tax Refunds.
  • Access your client's Account Summary to view prepayments. 
  • Submit a power of attorney—online.
  • Request an installment payment agreement. Select Payments, bills and notices on the Client services menu. Note: Your client must have a valid bank account within the U.S. 

Don’t have a Tax Professional account?

It's easy to create one today; in addition to your EFIN, you can now use:

  • your New York State attorney registration number, or 
  • your New York State certified public accountant (CPA) license number.
