We’ve enhanced our Tax Professional Online Services accounts to better serve your needs!

If you don’t have a Tax Professional account, it's easier than ever to create one today using:

  • an electronic filer identification number (EFIN), issued by the IRS, and the taxpayer identification number associated with your EFIN; or
  • your NYS attorney registration number, Social Security number, and information from a previously filed NYS tax return; or
  • your NYS certified public accountant (CPA) license number, Social Security number, and information from a previously filed NYS tax return.

If you already have a Tax Professional account, it's now client centric and includes the following enhancements:

  • a simplified permission model for your employees,
  • more verification options when adding clients to your account,
  • a client message center with a view to most notices issued to your clients by the Tax Department,
  • your favorite tools and services featured for ease of access, and
  • an improved look on mobile devices.

Use your account to access your client's Account Summary to review the amount of tax they prepaid before filing their return, check your client’s refund status—24/7, and respond online if they receive a letter about their refund.

You can add clients to your account to immediately perform services and view notices on their behalf. To add a client, you will need:

  • your client’s signed E-ZRep Form TR-2000,
  • your client’s taxpayer identification number; and
  • a filed New York State tax return, or
  • a bill (assessment), or
  • a five-digit PIN (provided by the Tax Department), or
  • confirmation that your client has not yet filed a New York State tax return.
