Assessment Community Weekly

Best wishes to our fellow public servants for the upcoming Presidents Day weekend!

2018 levels of assessment due February 20
Please submit your level of assessment (LOA) along with any other data you’d like considered in the 2018 residential assessment ratio (RAR) calculation.  We’ll issue the RARs on March 1. So that we can use your LOA in the calculation, please send it to your regional customer service representative by the end of the day on February 20.

Please note: You are currently unable to access the RARs via Municipal Profiles. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Reminder: 2017 STAR credit recipients
Use these instructions to access your list of 2017 credits issued prior to January 31, 2018. Each parcel has a Status Code of “I”, which means the check has been issued.

Questions? Email real.property@tax.ny.gov or call the Assessor/Director Hotline: 518-457-9053.

Questions about the property tax relief or STAR credits? Call your Hotline: 518-457-9053
Since we launched the Assessor/Director Hotline in September, we’ve fielded more than 700 calls from you. Use this line for questions about any of the property tax credits, including the STAR and property tax relief credits.

Thank you for not providing the number to property owners; your cooperation enables us to continue to provide prompt service to you and your fellow assessors and directors.

Please note: The law does not authorize us to share specific information about a taxpayer’s property tax relief credit, but we are glad to take information about the property owners and respond to them.
