Update: 2017 STAR credit recipients
We’ve updated the lists of 2017 STAR credit recipients. The lists include:
- all 2017 checks issued prior to January 31, 2018;
- all parcels with a Status Code of “I”, which means the check has been issued; and
- whether each credit was for Basic or Enhanced STAR.
The lists are in zipped text files. Use these instructions to download the lists in the Online Assessment Community.
If you’re responsible for multiple municipalities, download and open the report for each locality separately.

New! Property Tax Credit Lookup Tool
Property owners can use the new tool to view and print 2017 STAR and property tax relief credits.
2018 Tentative Oil and Gas Unit of Production Values
The tentative unit of production values are now available online. This memo is being mailed to assessors and county directors with wells in their vicinities, as well as to producers.
Respond to our annual name/address review email
Last month we sent emails to each assessor, supervisor, and mayor asking for updated contact information for the assessor, supervisor or mayor, municipal clerk, tax receiver, and attorney.
If you have not already done so, please respond to that email. Here’s what to look for in your inbox:

If you have email or staffing changes mid-year, please notify Colleen within 5 business days. You can also email Colleen with any questions regarding our annual name and address review.
Reminder: county/town/village tax bill extracts
If you haven’t already done so, send your tax bill extracts to us this week.
Use this cover sheet to send the files to proptaxbills.datafiles@tax.ny.gov.
Your data file should be in one of these two formats:
We will share your data with the State Comptroller’s Office. By providing the data to us now, you’ll avoid having to send it to the Comptroller’s Office later in the year.
