The Legal Education & Professional Development
Bureau (LEPD) of the New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is
seeking a talented and qualified graduate or undergraduate student to assist with all
logistics involved with developing, administering and deploying a robust
training and professional development curriculum and schedule. This is a 30-hour week paid position. The preferred hours are Monday – Friday 9:30 – 4:30,
or a regular four-day work week.
LEPD
is responsible for providing professional development opportunities and skills
training to all OAG employees, including continuing legal education (CLE)
programs for OAG and other New York State government attorneys.
Working in the New York City office, the selected student will assist the
training team in Albany and in New York City with all aspects of administering
and executing the training and professional development curriculum and
schedule.
Assignments
will include but not be limited to:
- Room set-up, registration, customer
support and troubleshooting technical issues during training program;
- Manage initial contact and messaging to
new NYC hires regarding Mandatory Training, manage attendance lists and reports for
compliance;
- Assist NYC and Albany Trainers in
creating, posting, and announcing Professional Development courses, as well as
creating sign-in sheets and tracking attendance in our online learning
management system;
- Creating and editing updates to the Legal
Education and Professional Development (LEPD) Intranet page;
- Managing the Training email box;
- Coordinate program viewing of CLE’s,
Group Replay of CLE’s, messaging and logistics planning;
- Assist with booking event space for
training being held at 28 Liberty training spaces for all programs
- Communicate with IT on program days for
computer and room needs;
- In charge of executing all arrangements
for Live and Webcasting programs from booking, registration, sign-in sheets,
monitoring the room, working with TotalWebcasting, IT and Administrative
Services;
- Assist NYC Trainer in all Training and
CLE needs; and
- Other duties as assigned
We
seek applicants with the following qualifications:
- Proficiency
in MS Office and Survey Monkey;
- Excellent
writing and analytical skills;
- Detail-oriented
and highly organized; and
- Demonstrates a high degree of
customer service acumen and professionalism, as well as the ability to
work well with employees from all staffing levels.
Applicants must be enrolled
in a 12 hour credit program as a college student and be able to work a 30 hour week. Given the scope of the projects/initiatives that will be assigned, the student must be able
to commit to the student assistant position for a full school year.
