Get Help from Your Local Community
New York State is home to the nation's second largest network of Community Action Agencies (CAAs). Our 47 agencies cover every New York county and receive funding through the Federal Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).
While CAAs go by many different names, they share the same goal. Our Agencies are dedicated to helping individuals and families with low-income. If you need help, contact your local agency. Services provided may include:
- Employment assistance and training
- Emergency food, clothing, and housing
- Rent and utility assistance
- Domestic violence resources
- Home heating or weatherization
- Childcare services/Head Start
- And more
If you don't need immediate assistance, we encourage you to help your fellow New Yorker. Support your local Community Action Agency by volunteering or spreading the word.
