With new bear hunting opportunities, crossbows allowed once again (pending adoption of regulations anticipated in mid-August), more counties open to hunting with rifles, reduced setback distances for crossbows and vertical bows, and restructured license types and fees, New York big game hunters will see a variety of changes this fall. To help hunters navigate the changes and plan their hunting activities, DEC recently updated the webpages linked below:
