Hello,

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued the following press release:

Fall Camping at Bear Spring Mt.

Fall camping for the Bear Spring Mountain campground in the towns of Walton and Colchester, Delaware County, is scheduled for October 1 through December 18, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today.

The Spruce Grove portion of the campground will be open for off-season camping. All campers must self register at the entrance of the Spruce Grove camping area for one of the 14 campsites before setting up camp. The sites are available on a first come, first served basis for up to five days at a time and are free of charge.

Fall camping at Spruce Grove is limited to the 14 sites only. No potable water is available, but the pit toilet facilities will remain open through the big game hunting season, weather permitting. This is a carry in/carry out facility so campers must remove all garbage.
