Celebrate Water Week
Clean water is an asset to a community’s health and economic vitality. The Division of Water is committed to protecting and restoring New York’s waters in all areas of the state for all people, regardless of race, color, or income. For ideas on ways you can help protect and conserve our water resources no matter where you live, go to DEC’s Watershed Stewardship and Keep Water Clean webpages. New Initiative to Protect Drinking Water SourcesDEC and the Department of Health (DOH) have announced a new initiative to assist municipalities with assessing and supporting drinking water source protection programs. As part of New York's Drinking Water Source Protection Program (DWSP2), up to 40 volunteer communities will work with technical assistance partners to develop programs that proactively protect public drinking water supplies. DWSP2 is a multi-agency initiative led by DEC and DOH, in collaboration with the departments of Agriculture and Markets and State. State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Priority Ranking List 2021 AnnouncedDEC has announced the Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS) priority rankings for 2021.
