The New York Shellfish Restoration Council will hold a virtual public meeting on Thursday, March 25, 2021, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Register for the meeting online or call into the meeting by dialing 518-549-0500 and entering the Meeting Access code 185 860 4957.
The Council will provide updates on the status of the Long Island Shellfish Restoration Project (LISRP) as the fourth year of shellfish stocking continues and will discuss initial steps to develop a comprehensive, science-based, and stakeholder-driven State shellfish restoration plan. The plan will provide an essential framework to further advance the recovery of New York's important marine shellfish resources. Initial objectives of the plan may include:
The Council will develop the plan in coordination with DEC and other key organizations through a process facilitated by The Pew Charitable Trusts. During this meeting, the Council will outline the desired planning process and timeline. There will be opportunity for brief public comments and questions during the meeting, and the planning process will be designed to gather additional stakeholder input. |
