Reminder - Proposed Part 350 Regulations Public Comment PeriodDEC filed a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking with the Department of State to add a new 6 NYCRR Part 350. The proposed regulations will implement the requirements outlined in the NYS Food Donation and Food Scraps Recycling Law enacted in 2019. The law takes effect on January 1, 2022 and requires large generators of food scraps to donate excess edible food and recycle all remaining food scraps if they are located within 25 miles of an organics recycler. Persons wishing to comment on the proposed regulations have the opportunity to submit written comments or make a statement at one of two public comment hearing webinars. DEC will accept written public comments through April 27, 2021: FoodScrapsLaw@dec.ny.gov. Learn more about proposed Part 350 and how to submit comments. Events:
