Scup Trip Limit Increase

  • Effective Sunday, September 15, 2019, the daily trip limit for scup is increased to 2,000 pounds. This trip limit will remain in effect through September 30, 2019.

Scup October 1st Trip Limit Increase

  • Effective October 1, 2019, scup falls under the NOAA Winter II coast-wide management plan. At this time, the Winter II per trip limit will be 12,000 pounds. NOAA anticipates increasing this per trip limit due to unharvested Winter I quota being rolled forward into Winter II. NOAA is currently finalizing their Winter I accounting. For any update on the Winter II per trip limit, please visit Commercial Quota Harvest Limits.
  • Per trip limits during Winter II will remain in effect through December 31, 2019, unless otherwise notified.

These actions are taken under the authority of 6 NYCRR 40.1 (u), and quota distribution schedule referenced therein.

All fish commercially harvested must be reported on Vessel Trip Reports (VTRs). If you need extra VTRs or would like information on online reporting, please call 631-444-0857.

See the complete list of Commercial Quota Harvest Limits for more information. View the Commercial Fishing Quota Usage Report for the most up to date details on commercial landing data in New York State.
