DEC Brings Outdoor Adventures to the NY State Fair
Thank you to the thousands of visitors that stopped by DEC’s exhibits at this year’s record-breaking State Fair. At DEC’s always popular aquarium building, visitors enjoyed the fish tanks, talking to an environmental conservation officer, purchasing their sporting license, and learning about the state’s new plastic bag ban. Those of all ages had fun exploring all that the Expo Center had to offer including talking to a ranger, getting a photo with Smokey Bear, picking up their free seedling, trying indoor fishing at our Fishin’ Hole, and exploring a lean-to and campsite. After sampling the indoor fishing, fairgoers had the chance to try their hand at securing a real catch with the help of I Fish NY staff at two family fishing events on the pond. New Amenities and Improvements at Nicks Lake Campground in Old Forge
