Glass Report AvailableThe Northeast Recycling Council (NERC) announced the results of an 11-state survey about the glass recycling markets in the region. The Northeast MRF Glass Survey Report details information about residential glass collected for recycling and prepared for the marketplace by Material Recycling Facilities (MRFs) in the region. The Report provides important insights into the challenges that contribute to the quality and quantity of the region’s MRF glass. Organics Summit: Growing Local RootsRegistration is now open for the 2019 Organics Summit: Growing Local Roots! The 5th annual Organics Summit will take place March 26th - 27th at Casa Larga Vineyards outside of Rochester, NY. This yearly event is an opportunity to connect with over 150 NYS material management professionals. This year's summit will focus on strengthening regional connections for diverting wasted food and food scraps from disposal, overcoming pressing challenges currently faced by the organics recycling industry and much more. 2018 Solid Waste Management Facilities Annual ReportsAll 2018 annual report forms for solid waste management facilities are now available and due March 1, 2019 to DEC central office and your regional office. 2018 Annual report forms for Case-Specific and Large Quantity Pre-Determined BUDs are now available. Most annual reports are due March 1, 2019 and some on March 31, 2019 (check your BUD). Deadline Approaching - DEC Funding for Emergency Food Relief OrganizationsFunding available to support food pantries and other emergency food relief organizations to decrease the amount of food that would otherwise been wasted and/or make additional food available to those in need.
