Peconic Estuary Program Hosting Public Meetings |
|
The Peconic Estuary Program is currently revising its Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) and is requesting your input! It has been more than 15 years since the Peconic Estuary Program first released our plan to conserve and restore the Peconic Estuary. Much has changed since the first plan was written and therefore, an updated long-term plan is necessary to continue to effectively improve the health of the estuary. Some priority topics have become less important, while new issues have arisen. Improving water quality in the Peconic Estuary is a complex issue and requires the cooperation and coordination of multiple groups. We are calling upon our stakeholders including business owners, fishermen, farmers, concerned citizens, local organizations, experts and government officials to participate in this process. We are holding three public meetings around the Peconic Estuary to gain input as we update our Management Plan: Wednesday May 23rd 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday May 24th 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday May 31st 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. For more information, e-mail peptalk@peconicestuary.org. |
