Natural Resource Trustees Announce Public Meetings

Meetings to be held May 15 and 16, St. Lawrence County

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is one of four agencies that serve as Natural Resource Trustees of the St. Lawrence Environmental Trustee Council. The trustees are holding two public meetings in St. Lawrence County to share information about restoration projects in the St. Lawrence River Environment as part of the ongoing Natural Resource Injury Restoration process. The public may choose to attend either meeting date listed below.

Highlights of the presentations will include:
* Completed and upcoming recreational fishing access sites;
* Cultural restoration programs developed by the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe Environment Division; and
* Completed and upcoming fish and wildlife habitat restoration projects.

These actions are priorities listed in the St. Lawrence River Environment Natural Resource Damage Assessment: Restoration and Compensation Determination Plan and Environmental Assessment (PDF). The plan is available for download at (Leaves DEC website).

The St. Lawrence Environmental Trustee Council members are the DEC, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, St. Regis Mohawk Tribe Environmental Division, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
