Hunter Education Classes Available Before Spring Turkey Season
Hunter Education classes are being offered throughout New York State during March and April, but space is limited and classes fill quickly, so do not delay in registering for a course. All classes are free of charge. Find a DEC Hunter Education class near you.
2018 NY NASP Tournament was a Success!
This year was the third state tournament in which student archers were able to compete against one another in the same place on the same day. A total of 19,400 arrows were shot by 485 students at the tournament! Check out the results from the tournament as well as our NASP photo album. |

All first-time hunters planning to go afield this upcoming spring turkey season must first complete a mandatory hunter education course before they can purchase a hunting license.
The 10th annual New York National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) state tournament, hosted by DEC, took place on March 9th at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY.
