Water Well Contractor Program Registration

The DEC Water Well Contractor Program is Well Drillercurrently accepting applications for the Certificate of Registration for the period April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019. Registration is required each year for all water well contractors who drill or repair water wells in New York State. The on-site contractor must be certified for the work that they are conducting (well drilling and/or pump installation). A Preliminary Notice must be filed prior to drilling a well and a Water Well Completion Report must be filed upon completion of water well drilling. Availability of Grants for Great Lakes Basin Projects Announced

The Sustain Our Great Lakes program has announced that up to $5.4 million in grants is available to improve and enhance: stream and riparian habitat, coastal wetland habitat, and water quality in the Great Lakes and its tributaries. The Request for Proposals and details about the grant program can be found on the Sustain Our Great Lakes website. Pre-proposals are due February 13, 2018

Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with partners, and use decision-making tools and resources supported by New York's Great Lakes Action Agenda. To share your ideas and learn more about the action agenda, email greatlakes@dec.ny.gov.
