This past spring, students at Paul Smith's College created a 15-minute documentary film as part of the Climate Stories Project, carrying out interviews with Adirondack residents about their attachment to the land and their responses to climate change in their home region. Southampton, NY is home to the first East Coast municipal park to be a certified AGZA Green Zone where routine landscape maintenance is performed using quiet, emissions-free manual techniques and electric equipment that draws on New York’s relatively clean power grid. You can find out more about the negative impacts of gas-powered lawn equipment on the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA) website.
